Forgot my footnote from above.

* Yes I should never assume and surely I shouldn't go forward based on an assumption, but I figured that since you were doing so wrt Cap and Trade that I would be forgiven for doing so myself.

Cheers.

Mayme, you are obviously a lefty tool, correct? Anyhow I will proceed under that assumption*. You are correct that Cap and Trade will attempt to decrease CO2 production, the problem is that it does so by artificially increasing the cost to the consumer and limiting supply. Additionally we don't know what the baseline levels of CO2 should be. With this in mind how can Cap and Trade actually hit it's goal to save the world? For all we know the decrease in CO2 could have negative affects on our climate, or it could have absolutely no affect and would therefore be a failure and a monumental waste of money.

Now on to your insulting rhetoric about our Military. Yes the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines in Afghanistan and Iraq are fighting to provide the respective peoples with Freedom and Democracy. To not see the actual results of this effort make you a complete and total moron leftist (but I repeat myself). In case you weren't aware the War in Iraq has been won...the U.S. and the new Democratic Government of Iraq won....your ilk lost...get over it. Afghanistan is still somewhat a mixed bag, although maybe your Man God Barry will just default on the whole thing an give it too Russia...you just never know.

So in closing, Leftist, Statist trolls such as yourself will be the demise of this once blessed country. When the economy collapses and you are roaming from city to city to find work that most Americans won't do, don't bother stopping by my house for a bite to eat as all the food will be reserved for those who aren't worthless traitors to their Nations ideals and goals, established in our Founding Documents.

Have a nice day.

Well, Mayme, I have some questions for you.

How come global warming wasn't that big a deal until Al Gore's sensational movie throughout which there were a lot of lies told?

Indeed, if it's such a crisis why do they have to lie at all?

I would think it would be apparent as a problem without lies, wouldn't you?

If Wind and solar power are such great viable alternatives to fossil fuels, don't you think they would have done better in the market since the technologies have been around for decades? Wind power has been around for centures, in fact. You know, windmills? Instead, they're just big bulky, and innefficient. So, the techno-wizs who can't seem to solve those problems blaime the fossil fuels companies and get government subsidies to continue being big bulky and innefficient... because they can't compete on the open market.

When cap and trade was ramped up in the 70's and 80's it killed the steel industries and crippled the economy in so many ways it was unreal. But they're such pretty lies it's hard not to believe in them, right? So, now, if this new legislation passes, we get to watch more inductries die while their alternative energy sources are allowed to continue to be big bulky and inefficiient on our dimes which we will pay them in two ways: taxes and higher utility bills.

But they're such pretty lies, you'd rather believe the lies than the truth.

There are likely to be a lot of typoes in that. I can't see black on dark gray very well, so I apologize in advance.

StephC's last blog post..TN, aided by the Feds, engage in revenue killing and an assault on yet another industry

I have to disagree with you and say that McHugh at least has a brain and realizes that a country has to step up and solve problems before they ruin us. Cap & Trade not only works to slow CO2 production but it will help in the area of oil/gas depletion. It will make other fuel sources viable. Is that a good thing? It is certainly worth a try given the alternative. Will it make energy more expensive, sure, but it will get expensive anyway. We need alternatives now!

You don't really think our soldiers are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan to provide democracy?
